Questions About Franchising

FRANCHISE

The standard franchise agreement aligns with the restaurant lease agreement. Most restaurant leases typically have a 10-year term, which usually coincides with the lease’s expiration.

The entire process typically takes between 6 to 12 months, depending on real estate availability and timeline.

At ON2GO.CA, we believe that a full-time owner presence ensures the highest quality food and customer service. That’s why most of our QSR brands require at least one shareholder to be an owner-operator.

The cost of a franchise restaurant depends on the chosen concept or brand. For detailed information, visit the brand-specific page or schedule a meeting with one of our expert representatives by clicking here.

The ideal ON2GO.CA franchisee is a dynamic individual with strong business acumen, leadership skills, and a deep commitment to the brand’s values. They are essential in maintaining the brand’s reputation, ensuring operational excellence, and driving long-term franchise success.

Yes, depending on the brand and region, we gladly consider both single and multi-unit opportunities.

CONSTRUCTION

Yes, our team includes experienced designers and construction professionals to support every step of the building process.

You are welcome to use your own contractor; however, they must be certified by the ON2GO.CA construction team and included in the project’s tender process. The ON2GO.CA construction team will provide a complete set of drawings for contractors to submit quotes. Ideally, only approved and certified contractors will be eligible to provide pricing.

Typically, store construction takes between 90 to 120 days for a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) and up to six months for a full-service restaurant. However, timelines may vary depending on material supply chains and contractor availability.

FINANCE

ON2GO.CA brands are supported by most national banks in Canada. While ON2GO.CA does not offer financial assistance directly, we can recommend reputable financial institutions to partner with. Our team will guide you through the process to help you achieve your desired outcome.

Franchisees are strongly encouraged to manage day-to-day operations, as owner-operated locations tend to achieve the highest performance. Many of our top-performing locations are successfully run by hands-on franchise owners.

MARKETING

Each ON2GO.CA brand has a dedicated marketing team composed of highly experienced professionals who focus on maximizing brand visibility at both local and national levels.

REAL ESTATE

Yes, you may choose your own location; however, it must be approved by ON2GO.CA. It is essential to collaborate with ON2GO.CA’s real estate team, who specialize in commercial real estate and restaurant properties. Our team will assist you in navigating the complexities of site selection, negotiating favorable lease or purchase terms, and ensuring the location meets our brand standards. Additionally, conducting a comprehensive feasibility study and business plan will provide valuable insights into the viability of your restaurant in the chosen location.

Yes, our real estate team collaborates extensively with real estate agents to identify and vet ideal sites, including both new builds and existing properties, for franchise candidates. It is crucial to work closely with ON2GO.CA’s real estate team, as they have extensive experience in commercial real estate and restaurant properties. We help navigate the complexities of site selection, negotiate favorable lease or purchase terms, and ensure the location aligns with brand standards. Additionally, conducting a comprehensive feasibility study and business plan will provide deeper insights into the viability of your restaurant in a specific location.

Our real estate team will assess your chosen location, and if it meets our criteria, we will further evaluate its suitability based on the services it can support.

ON2GO.CA’s dedicated real estate team will negotiate your commercial lease in collaboration with a network of experienced brokers.

The ideal real estate criteria for opening a restaurant can vary depending on the restaurant type, target market, and local demographics. However, several key factors should be considered when selecting a location, including:

  • Location & Visibility: A highly visible location with strong signage opportunities enhances brand exposure.
  • Accessibility: Easy access for both customers and delivery services is essential.
  • Demographics & Competition: Understanding the local customer base and competitive landscape helps ensure a strong market fit.
  • Size & Layout: The unit should accommodate operational needs, including kitchen space, seating capacity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Zoning & Permits: The property must comply with zoning laws and have the necessary permits for restaurant operations.
  • Parking & Foot Traffic: Adequate parking and strong pedestrian traffic contribute to customer convenience and higher sales potential.
  • Rental Costs & Infrastructure: The lease cost should align with projected revenue, and the site should support the necessary utilities and services required for restaurant operations.

Selecting the right location requires thorough research and careful evaluation to ensure long-term success.

Training & Operations

ON2GO.CA provides comprehensive training to ensure franchisees acquire the essential skills needed to successfully operate their restaurant. The training duration varies by brand. Additionally, ON2GO University plays a key role in the learning process, offering a structured one-week online training program to equip franchisees with foundational knowledge and operational expertise.

No, prior restaurant experience is not required. ON2GO.CA provides comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure franchisees are well-prepared. However, management and restaurant industry knowledge can be a valuable asset in running a successful operation.

Coffee for Communities

ooeuf for good

At ooeuf, we believe in the businesses and future of coffee farmers. That’s why, we’re helping empower them through training with our partners to improve their livelihoods.

Ooeuf partners with local coffee exporters, not-for-profit and producer organizations.

Yelstin (Spanish): They’ve made the time and commitment to come and teach me new skills to innovate my lands.

This project has supported Yeltsin by providing him training using the coffee and climate approach which teaches farmers how to assess and react to different climate related impacts on their coffee farms. It has also provided him seeds to cultivate crops and coffee varieties that are more tolerant to the effects of climate change.
